Hey all i've been researching the Garmin approach series in a lot of detail lol
The garmin G3 is very well priced, however doesn't offer distances to hazards like the G5 does (unless you move the curser). The G6 looks soooo much better, has the distance markers for drives and the interface seems a lot more intuitive. I've searched the forums for garmin posts and found a few but can anyone offer experience of using a few of these devices? I am so undecided :confused:

Ive got the G3 and have no qualms recommending it. Simple to use and cheap.

Do you have any problems when you've hit it into a different fairway? Does it ever show you the distances to hazards or is it just a case of moving the marker on the screen?

Wouldnt know about hitting onto other fairways  . Gives you a measurement from anywhere. As for the bunkers/water etc you just move the cursor to said hazard and the distance is shown. I bought it to play Burnham and berrow because of the blind shots and it was great.

Have a g3 myself great piece of kit! Can't see why anyone would buy a 5/6

Spend the extra money on something you get better use out of

P.s the g3 gives distance to water, sand etc. Front middle back of green. Also you can mark your distance for any shot.
