Morning guys,

Just a quick one here. Getting my new AP1s in a couple of days. I've gone 4 iron to W1.Nxt month I'll be getting new woods.

Just want your take on the gaps between the driver and 4 iron. Im thinking of the following:

Driver - 10.5
4 wood - 16.5
Hybrid 3 - 21
4 Iron - 23
And so on...

The other option is going for a 3 wood at 15 instead of a 4 wood.

Thoughts??

Thanks!

I have 714 AP1s as well and beyond the 4 iron I was recommended at the fitting a 21 deg hybrid which I bought. Subsequently I picked up a 19 degree hybrid on here as well and don't have anything between that and the driver. I definitely have a gap in the bag where a 3 wood would sit - but not having a 3 wood tempting me to 'go for it' when >200 yards from the green, keeps me out of (some) trouble.

Really depends on your distances IMO e.g. if you git your driver 250 and your 4 wood only 190 then it's an issue. If your 4 wood goes 220 though then do you need another club to fill the 220-250 gap? (how often would you need to fill that gap)

I personally go no longer than my 3 hybrid - which I hit 220. Next stop is driver.

I personally think that laying up on long par 3s is fine so I would suggest leaving out longer clubs in favour of shorter ones.

I go driver, 3 wood, 2h, 4 iron. It works great for me and I have all the options I need at the long end.

In reality I treat everything over a 5 iron as distance clubs... Just through lack of ability.
