Xmas is coming up and I fancy a Game Golf..

The new GameGolf Live is out, but I'm not sure if I am bothered by it for the extra £100. I mean live stats are great, but I don't want to keep taking my phone out and looking at my phone whilst im on the course. I mean in round editing sounds handy, as does the real time/post round syncing.. How tedious does it get connecting to your laptop when you get home?

Anyone upgrading or bypassing the original for the live?

I'm a original user and find the post round edit quite an enjoyable process, it has the added advantage of making my think through my round and what needs work at the range. It really isn't difficult and takes no more than a few mins plus if your anything like me you're bound to forget to tag the odd shot and would need to edit after the fact anyway. Finally I believe you can only use the "LIVE" features in non competition rounds so if you play more comp than bounce what's the point.

Im with Stan on this one.
I cant see many advantages of the Live system unless you boom a driver and go to your playing partner "look how big my testicles are"

I use the classic as well.

The only real advantage I see in the Live system is being able to upload from your mobile device instead of having to connect the device to your laptop.

When I came home from my last holidays and was trying to upload and edit the four rounds I played, I found it difficult to edit some holes. The scorecard told me I didn't tag every shot properly but I couldn't really remember which ones, so I couldn't properly edit some of the rounds.

So if you play a lot when you're on the road, and think not having to take your laptop with you every time is worth the extra GBP 100, get the Live. If not, there's nothing important the classic version can't do.

Looks like I am getting it for Christmas :whoo: and £120 opposed to £250+ seems a no brainer, I have a very good memory for my rounds so I don't see any great advantage in the live version.

I have the classic and wasn't tempted to swap even with the discount offered to existing users. I quite looking back on my rounds later on, especially when I found out that 300 yard + bomb I hit actually only went 280

Nice humblebrag, mate. ;)

Damn, don't you hate it, too, when you think you holed your blind approach 7 iron from 190 yards only to find it 1 foot from the hole?:one:

I've asked for the classic for Christmas (please Santa!) as I coudn't justify the additional cost of the live version.

Whilst I agree that editing multi rounds ( i.e after a golf holiday) can mean I 'forget' holes, I don't see real value in GG Live
I like the editing process with GG classic, as it makes me review and think about my round and actually do some analysis rather than just look at the headline stats.
A friend punted his classic on Fleabay and bought Live one at discount. Unfortunately a busted shoulder has prevented any user feedback from him

I think next time I go on a golf holiday, I'll just take my laptop with me. I feel like I benefit most from reviewing the round when I do it shortly after I completed the round. If I do it a week later, I'll be busy trying to remember the shots to fix tagging mistakes, and not really think about what I did. It's also helpful to review the round before I play the course for a second time, so I don't repeat every single mistake.

Basically, getting the live version for me would be spending 100 quid so I don't have to take my laptop, which is something I can't justify.
