Midnight, Tim Brindle and I have two games organised at East Horton Golf Club, located between Winchester and Southampton on Weds 2nd June.

We're playing both courses, with a 9:37 tee time on the new Greenwood course, and a 14:15 tee time for the Parkland course.

We'd love it if someone else could join us for the day, or even just one of the games.

Over to you...........

Oops. Sorry Tim.

How to upset someone before you've even met them!! I'm an expert!

No worries, I always thought your nickname was Happle Shacker for some reason!

Looks like it's just the three of us. But it also looks like it's going to be a lovely day, which'll be good. Despite hitting like a donkey at the range lately, I'm looking forward to tomorrow. Be there around 9am.

I'm hoping to get there a little early and hit one or two balls on the range. I have an unresolved issue with my driver that needs a little tweak.

Otherwise I'll be in the bar by the 18th green. Logo'd bag, top etc should give me away!

I'm quite pleased we've had a bit of rain. Although the extra roll has been welcome recently, some of the greens have been a tad difficult to hold. Tomorrow looks good though.

So, how did you guys get on? Who won?

Thoroughly enjoyable, perfect weather (well, a bit hot and sunny for me perhaps), good food, good company, nice course. I wouldn't say any of us played that well though.

If we go on Gross Score, I won, :) with a 96 and a 98. :(

But we were playing Stableford, so first place was Guy (Midnight) with 64 points, second place was Graham (haplesshacker) with 60 points, and I was third with 57 points.

One hole made a huge difference. First round, 13th hole, 475 yard par 5, fairway dropped down a bit then rose up sharply to a raised green. All drove off okay, and although I hit a tree I at least bounced out onto the fairway. Next shot went into a some crap. Took a drop, hit it straight back into the crap. Nearly picked up, but carried on and carded an 8. Guy's second shot of a 3W I think hit the green! Graham's second shot also hit the green! Guy got a birdie, Graham sadly "only" got a par. 5 points to Guy, 4 to Graham, none for me!

I think I should win the prize for most inconsistent player. During the outbound nine on Round 2 I hit a par, then took a 10, then another par, then another 10, then another par! :o

My legs and ankles were pretty tired by the end, so I've no idea how people have managed 72 holes in a day. But it's given me the idea that one day I'd like to try and complete 100 holes in a single day. When I got home my back was aching, but this morning I feel remarkably refreshed. :D

Thanks for that Tim, it was a pleasure.

I agree that it was far too hot and it definately had an effect on all of us during the second game. Not helped I must add, with me having to push my GoKart around for most of the second round. Not the trolleys fault, it is only an 18 hole battery that's two years old.

For only £31 for a round on each of the two courses, Guy suggested that I try and organise a large meet for the forum there at some time. Playing both courses in one day. Something to think about I guess.

Great day chaps. Thank you.

Hi,

cracking day , really enjoyable, even I got a sun tan. As we all discussed , it showed that the H/C worked as we all had major blow ups , but then recovered on other holes.

See you all on Wed.

Cheers again

Midnight...
