Game golf tracking app

I know there are a few who use Game golf on here but is anyone using their tracking app?

Downloaded it (it's free) yesterday and tried it out this afternoon while out for a round - produces some interesting stuff

What does it give that you don't get from the usual GG. Not a big fan of using my mobile for golf apps as they seem to drain the battery

You dont need the tags in your clubs and the attachment on your belt. You press a button on your phone to tag just before you take your shot apart from that i think its the same

The app also gives you yardages on the course

Ya iv used it a couple of times but I find it takes along time to lock onto the gps and tag the club which ment a lot of editing after the round. This could very well be an issue with my phone rather than the app but for now it's just become too time consuming for me. pity as I do think it's a good app for the information and stats u get from it and did get me considering buying the unit.

Not had any problems with gps lock or tagging the club. I just dont always remember to press the tag button before the shot :)

One thing I wish i'd thought of is assigning a generic club for chips/pitches so that wedge stats are for actual shots into a green - found app easy to use - not sure I'd use it when out with others but it gives interesting insight into rounds when I'm out on my own.

That's how I use GG. It's pretty good, pull it out of your pocket and the screen activates and lets you know how far you are to the green. I emailed them to ask if it could pull in club data based on your average yardage to give you a hint of what club to hit. Sometimes it's not always there in your mind. I'm getting there with remembering it though. To be honest, I don't know how I played golf without it. Probably coming short and too long a lot of the time.

Hope to get the tagging system soon, but I think it's pretty expensive when the free app does offer a lot. Granted you can't use the phone during any comps but for the average golfer just on bounce games it's ideal. It's also good to see how you compare to those you follow too. Almost like a golf version of Facebook, but with folk who can behave themselves lol

Ok for practice but couldn't use in a comp hence maybe their reluctance

Based on this thread I've just downloaded the app for tonights twilight knockabout. Looking at the stats the app is showing me now for the pro's seems to be a lot of interesting data and stats available. Granted i do not own the GG units and tags etc but from what i know about GG, it does seem to be exactly the same albeit 'tagging' the clubs on your phone rather than your belt? I havent hit a ball in over a month so be interesting to see if the app will let me zoom out enough to show my dispersion tonight :( may 'forget' to tag some clubs if its not going well......

you can see all that data after the round. You don't get to see any of it during the round. Only the hole you're playing and the yardage to the front middle and back of the green when you're close, and the 200, 250 and 300 yard markers off the tees.
