Game golf question.

How does the unit seperate chips/pitches and how many rounds do you expect from one charge

Thanks in advance
I've had 2 rounds from 1 charge, switched off in between(lunch) dificult to tell how close it was to empty, both rounds were under 4hrs, just,
No idea on the chips and pitches, don't think it can.

Some funky algorithm for working out "mean/median/or whatever" distances... but it still skews stuff initially. Couple of rounds, maybe 3 if lucky before a charge for me... but recharge after each round normally.

Algorithm still couldn't tell difference between a chip shot hit perfectly and a chip shot thinned or fatted going the same distance, so I suppose the question needs a bit more explanation.

I think that when you have enough rounds in, GG takes your average for each club and if a shot is outside a certain percentage it doesn't class it as a full shot.
Or you can assign a tag for chips and pitches, but you have to do it when you review/edit the round.

So what's the key differences between the tag set only and the classic.

Ideally if I could use with an iPhone and track key points such as distances, miss stats and putting I'd be happy with just a tag set.

Tag set cannot be used in comps, classic can.

On the tags, does it still offer the same stats?, and do I still need a pc?
I believe you see the same stats, not sure about the PC, you don't if you can edit on the phone app.

I've downloaded the tracker app to get a feel for it. I don't fancy the full game golf mainly because I can't be bothered furing up the pc after every game , so either the tags or tracker app should suffice

The device holds upto 9 rounds, to be honest editing and revisiting the round afterwards is good, I really enjoy it.

I'm not worried about thins or fats, more the fact of chips at 10/20 yards throwing the distance average out verses 100/90 yard shots

But surely it'd be easy to tell them apart given that it would be your driver for 100 yards Baz. :smirk:

Hey OS I think it uses mathematical outlier calculation and standard deviation. I always found maths challenging once they took the numbers away and introduced funny symbols. However, based on my simple knowledge (others please feel free to correct) the system clusters your shots of similar distance. Anything outside that range is classified as an outlier and discounted from the average. I've found it to be very accurate so far. Hope this helps.

Just checked my stats and my PW typical shot is 119 yards but I've hit lots of chips and small pitches with it that are simply discounted. I think the calculation is weighted towards the longer end of the spectrum :)

I've used one of the spare tags and called it "Chipper" and keep it my pocket while playing. you can just touch the club to your pocket and it will work through your pocket. It will then registers a separate club and not mess with your averages.
