Game Golf Question

Hi all.I'm considering investing in game golf, more as a bit of fun and a record of my rounds, rather than any serious stat dissecting.Now I get the concept and how it all works/records etc. Now this could be a dumb question but how does it know what course you have played. Is there a data base similar to Garmins etc. already stored in software that comes with the unit?CheersCraig
