Thinking of getting Game Golf.
I have been reading the reviews & whilst I like most of what I have read, there has been some criticism of it's accuracy regarding it's recognition of the ball position?

I like the idea & all the feature's that it offers, but I am not keen to waste my money unless it is accurate.

Have any users got any other observation's or criticism's?

I've not had to make any alterations re any borderline fairway/rough readings
Spot on as far as I'm concerned
All civilian GPS are accurate to approx 12-15 feet, I use my GG and a Garmin G6 and have spotted no difference to on course distances and GG post round distances.
In fact my game has improved and handicap reduced by 2 strokes IMO mostly down to having actual club distances.

I'd say it's as accurate as it can be for this kinda system. So far, for me, it has shown the ball position exactly accurately so far as I'm concerned. My only criticism, and its a tiny one, is that I've had to adjust ball position ever so slightly a couple of times where the system either had me hitting a fairway or green when I hadn't or vice versa...but they were all literally within a matter of inches, so what do you expect? It's not inch perfect but I'd say within a yard or so. I've certainly no complaints. It's still an amazing system.

This.

(However, with this as an understanding, my regualr 4 ball did a comparison as we use different DMD and they were all within a yard of each other - i was expecting 3 or 4 yards spread or even more given the limitiations I understood to civilain GPS and variations in course mapping given the emphasis one manufactuer places on 'walking the course' in their ad matieral etc - anyway, no matter as none of use are consistant to less than 3 yards anyway!)

This is why during editing you might see the odd tee shot not on the tee box or off a green when you were on.

.

Know they are larger units but agricultural GPS systems are accurate to inches, so can only be time before handheld units and watches are too.

Correct mate, but without going all anorak, there are other factors involved, handheld GPS units can also be accurate to inches, I missed the words "on average" out from my post, apologies,😃

your hand held devices will never be down to an accuracy of inches like any civilian GPS system. The only way to get that type of accuracy is by using the military GPS Black crypto codes and only certain countries have access to them. The US will not allow their enemies to use all the GPS satellites or that gives them the ability to carry precision strikes with ease.

The US restrict use of their pinpoint accurate GPS. They'll do anything to win the next Ryder Cup

when I,ve double tagged clubs by accident, it,s been anywhere between 0 and 7 yards different from the same position. As said before if your just on/off fairway or green, you can manually move it to the correct position really easily.
