Another thread, sorry!

Just trawling our new website, and we have a members area with a bit called Game Finder!

If you are looking for a game, you can either see if anyone else has set up one, or start your own! Pretty cool i think! Anyone else clubs embracing tech for this kind of thing?

We had this, but everyone saw as a kind of Billy No Mates sort of thing. Only the odd person (occasional rather than weird) used it, so it died a slow and pitiful death.

Agree with you though, that it seemed a good idea in principal.

We have it at ours and it's suffered a similar fate still there but hardly ever gets used.
I too thought it was a great idea.

+1.

Been on our website for at least five years but has had no use. Does no harm so still there and, from time to time, members are reminded of its availability.

I don't understand why this wouldn't work, especially if you want to get a game at short notice especially if you have to pre-book tee times.

That's the thing Homer, we don't ever have tee times. Theoretically, it should be fantastic, but the reality proved the exact opposite. Some people are so scared of being judged that it just did not get used.

In which case I can see why it struggles. We roll up and go out and it's never an issue but for those where times are booked and perhaps spaces at a premium, it should have a place. Maybe members are just too insular

Can't argue with that. I vary what times I play and the people I play with, but there are an awful lot that play with the same people week in, week out. I love playing with different people. Always looking for ways to improve, and the more different pp's I have, the more different swings and techniques I get to see up close.
