Lads and lasses, need some assistance.

I know it finally looks like we're out of the rainy season...touch wood...but recently I had to take my ProQuip trousers back to the shop under warranty for a busted zipper. They didn't have anything I wanted in stock so I decided to blow my £50 voucher on other things (burnt a hole). Now looking at other waterproof trousers and seen a few pairs I like. My question is, the Galvin Green "Paclite" trousers, do you need to wear trousers underneath them or are they warm enough on their own??

The Paclite trousers are very very thin and lightweight.

Shop around, I got mine for £160 from my local pro shop, even got him to throw in a sleeve of Lethal balls to try ;)

Still too much, £100 is the limit really. If I get lucky and find a pair on eBay then I'll snap them up, failing that I'll get some Proquip Tourflex, good enough for the Ryder Cup team then they're good enough for me.

I presume it is the Alf model trouser we are talking about here. If you are not willing to spend more than £100 then do not waste your time waiting and looking on Ebay unless you are happy to buy 2nd hand, the Alf trouser is released in every GG collection so never really goes down in price. I have a pair by the way and they are superb

That was my next question, what model do I need. If this is the case then I might look for something else.

However 2nd hand is fine by me providing they are in good condition.

It is the Alf model. I have had a look on the bay and there are some on there used but if it were me I would leave alone as they look like they have seen plenty of action. GG change most items every time they release a collection but the plain Black Alf model is always the same hence why they are rarely reduced and if they are it is only by a very small amount.

Are there any other models that work as stand alone trousers? I hate wearing two pairs of trousers.

If the brand is less important than what you get you can pick up a set of Berghaus Paclite Gore Tex trousers for around £80 from most outdoor shops

I like the sound of getting GG as they have a lifetime warranty

Not by GG mate only the Alf model all the others they do are the Paclite version. If it were me I would go the extra yard and get the GG. The other brands yes may well be a lot cheaper but with GG you get a lifetime guarantee on them so 1 pair will basically last you forever so they do not work out that expensive really. Only way the may not cover you is if you rip them yourself, having said that I ripped an item of theirs and because I had bought lots of their other products they replaced it FOC. I know a couple of other guys on here have had issues Craw being the main one but he must have just been unlucky as myself and all my playing partners that wear their stuff have had no issues whatsoever.
