Anyone seen it in the flesh yet? Or better still, had a thrash with one?

All the reviews seem positive, and I'm over the initial repulsion of the 'Turbulators'. Would be interesting if this could rival the SLDR for performance, which seems to be the top dog at the moment.

Better still, maybe the G25 will come down in price a little...

I have to say 'turbolator' does sound like something from the drainage industry, like you would probably look at a G25 (as I did with the G20 when the G25 arrived, last years technology is good enough for me)

I haven't seen one yet, but I'm going to give buying it serious consideration if a) I like it and b) it agrees with me. Although, if the G25 is reduced it would be mighty tempting as I got on with that when I gave it a wee try.

What kind of decrease in price would we be looking at in the G25 when the 30 is released?

Well the G20 driver was being advertised for 169 and the irons for 369 on telly last night

Ping don't appear to drop their prices that dramatically when the new range comes out

Good man. Is that the driver, or irons. Make sure you let us know how you get on. Intrigued by the turbulator. Wonder if they'll split opinion on improved functionality like the TM speed slot!
of course it will, it's a pile of marketing poo! if it seriously made significant difference they would all be doing it years ago.

fast swingers might get an extra 1-2mph occasionally on a perfect swing- how often is that going to happen with 99% of amateurs:rolleyes:

Slightly cynical view. Progress has come on leaps and bounds and clearly the SLDR has had significant benefits for many. The G25 is one of the most forgiving on the market and Nike, Callaway and many others all produce drivers that are longer and more forgiving than ten years ago

I posted in another thread but I think TM has shifted the goal posts. You could argue the SLDR is a bit of a game changer, so for any company bringing out a new driver it has to have something different, and not just 5% bigger MOI than last months version.

One way is to undercut them a lot and compete on price, but a lot of companies can't do that. Ping probably knew they couldn't beat the SLDR for distance which, rightly or wrongly, is mostly what all new drivers are marketed judged on. Hence the turbulators to generate a bit of marketing buzz.

I will never believe any slot/ groove / marking will affect any shot an amateur golfer has to offer.
Sales and marketing make you believe everything will change when you hit their driver.
