G15 arrived yesterday....

After waiting the best part of a month, my new G15 Driver finally arrived yesterday afternoon. Nipped up the club after work to pick it up, fitted with the Grafalloy Prolaunch Red shaft it looks, and feels, absolutely superb. Even Mike, the 'pro, commented on how good it looked.
Not going to get a chance to get to either the range or the club beforehand to try it out, so my first knock with it will be on Sunday in a club comp. Teeing off the 10th (par 3) so the 11th hole (par 5 with trees all down the left hand side and a bloody great bunker in range on the right) will see me hitting it for the very first time...

Went with the Prolauch Red shaft to keep the ball down a bit lower, very useful..especially into the wind.

I thought you went with the Serrano ham shaft? What did you hear about the shaft that made you change back to the PL Red?

I too demo'd one last week in a club comp. My game was shocking, so can't really comment on the driver as I was spraying them around a bit, but I did manage to get one off the par 5 9th, and off the whites, and was on the green in two and had an eight footer for an eagle (first ever, although I've been in on this green twice before from the yellows and missed both putts.), but missed the putt, and settled for birdie.

Anyway, I was testing the 9* with the ping stiff shaft. Lovely to look at, and goes well when I can connected properly, as that drive on the 9th must have been about 290 (wind assisted). The stiff ping shaft in the G15 seems to be slightly stiffer than the stiff shafts in the old G5 and G10.

I thought you went with the Serrano ham shaft? What did you hear about the shaft that made you change back to the PL Red?

I was only going with the Serrano shaft because
a) I thought the ProLaunch red wasn't available anymore
b) I found standard Ping shafts a little too "whippy" for me.
Once I found out I could order the prolaunch I changed my order. I got on so well with this shaft in my G10 I didn't want to risk too much of a change.

I prefer the look of the I15 driver but think the G15 fairway woods look nicer than the I15 fairways.

Looking forward to the review of the G15 driver.

I just picked up my I15 fairway wood,so much better looking and performing than the G15. Long story short,tried the I15 driver whilst i was there,it should be here in a week or two,performance was better than i expexted.Long and straight,incredible club.

I had an I15 out today with a stiff haft and it is laughably whippy. The head is fantastic and suits the colour but the shaft is rubbish. Myself and two other single figure handicappers tried it and every single shot went right and bigtime. Horrible horrible shaft. I was also ooking at a comp headed titleist and a g10. Might hold out for the nike VR's and have a nosey at them too.

Don't get a 909 comp. Fugly. Defo fugly. If you can knock it in the air with a driver, you don't need a comp. Get a D2.

You must have been looking at the "draw" model.
Mine sits perfectly square.
Or maybe my set-up is better than yours?
