in the market for a 5wood. went to AG last night and took a Burner, Fybrid and G10 onto the range for an hour.

wow wee! loving the G10, would have bought it there and then but they only had a regular shaft and i really want to try a stiff too before parting with my cash.

great club though, much better/penetrating flight compared to the Burner and good distance too.

let me know if you see one for less than £130 anywhere!

I have the G10 4 wood and I agree it gives a great penetrating flight. Very very impressed with the G10.

I use a 12 degree driver, if the ball is sitting up like a coconut I can use my driver off of the deck, I can also grip down the shaft a little with it as well.

I have never ever been a 5 wood fan and just feel comfortable with a four wood. Its also only 17 degree and the Ping G10 3 wood is 15.5 if my memory serves me correctly, so to be honest there is not a huge amount of difference.

I'm in the market for a 4 wood too :-)

Maybe its down to the course we play, I would like something that perhaps gives me 10/15yds more than my WarBird 5 Wood, but I certainly dont need a 3 wood.

In an ideal round, my course Club selections would probably be,

1 4 Wood. 8iron
2. 4 Wood Putter ! (Par 4)
3. Driver 4 Wood
4 4 Wood 8 iron

ohh.. u get the drift..... :-)

understood. i rarely used my old 3 wood off the tee as pretty competent with the driver now, looking for something off the deck more than anything so i think the 5 wood will do the job.
i had a great ball flight with the regular shaft but have a stiff on my driver so really want to double check with a go on a stiff first.
hopefully find one somewhere close to give it a whirl.

I tried the G10 driver when it first came onto the market. I was ripping the stiff shafted Grafalloy Red driver on the practice area and was making a definate purchase when I read the shaft and discovered I had been given the Regular shaft by mistake!!!!!

I then tried the stiff which flew lower but not any greater than the regular. It introduced enough doubt into my mind to go to St Andrews through my pro for a proper fitting and I ended up with the Rapture in stiff, the rest they say is history!

Here you go....

£119.00 delivered.... :D :D :D

I've just bought myself a G10 3 wood with the regular Grafalloy Prolaunch fitted. £85.00 delivered off ebay and it's "mint".
Used it for the first time today (it only arrived yesterday).
First two knocks with it (at the short par 4 second hole) I struck the ball really well but hit a draw into a lake up the left hand side. Twice!!
Had I made a mistake I asked myself.
Next time I pulled it out was on the 6th hole, par 5. I was sitting nicely in the middle of the fairway, decent lie, gave it a good belt and jeez!! Straight as an arrow up the middle leaving myself just short of the green. I hit quite a few more shots with it during the round and each one just flew. I used it on a long par 3 into the wind and put it to within 5 feet of the hole, again straight as an arrow.
I'm contemplating getting the matching 5 wood from the guys above. But I won't be going with the G10 driver....I love my Benny too much
;)

took the plunge last night - £130 from AG.
was hitting it well in the range, really like the feel of it. very solid feeling clubhead - fingers crossed for tomorrow's round!

With my birthday money, I got a course of 7 lessons, including an hour on the track with the pro, and after trying the Burner and G10 woods. I took the plunge and got the G10.

Had an hours lesson first then played 18 holes, never once taking the big dog out of the bag. FIR was my highest ever at 58%!

Shot 98 on Monday and 100 today. Those that know of my plight will know this is the mythical target to beat. Okay so it was on the slightly easier course than the one we use for the weekend comps, but for me it's a result.

Thanks for the advice about the G10. Well it is one less Mizuno club in the bag.

Price was £125, but they threw in a sleeve of Srixon Z-Stars.

My bag is really coming together nicely now.
