Reading that he is about to switch to play Srixon irons and Cleveland wedges.Balls and the woods and putter will possibly all follow.

Hope it works and doesn't go terribly wrong like so many in the past.

Really? If it was me and after the year he's had, I'd be sticking with what I had. He's made plenty of money off the back of his current setup so a few extra quid would be no mind changer.

Huge coup for Srixon/Cleveland however I'll put my neck on the line and say the Z-STAR ball is already miles ahead of anything in the Callaway ball range.

Plus there is a newer version of the Z-STAR out.

Correct Craw a major coup for Srixon/Clevland,he must be confident that the equipment can take him a step further, after the season he's had.

That's some coup for Srixon if it's true, must be their highest profile player ever ? They probably need it as a brand as they make some nice gear but don't have the same rep as other brands

Depending on the deals he was offered, probably a good move on his part. Can't see him equaling the performance of this year although i do think he'll be world class for a good few years to come.
As far as equipment goes, the Srixon clubs are very very good and he should be able to make the change very easily.

Very big in America and Japan, i believe Jim Furyk is a staff player. Laura Davies has been with them for years. They make very good clubs and balls.

Yup. Stenson, Furyk, Tim Clark, Robert Allenby and Brian Davis all play Srixon clubs.

Miguel Angel Jiminez uses their balls as I think Vijay Singh does.

Quality clubs without the presence of Titleist, Callaway and Ping

Isn't Henrik Stenson a Srixon player?

That gold digger has jumped brands that many times its hard to keep up. He is however a TaylorMade Staff player now.

Srixon are massive in Asia, adding the Cleveland brand has made them the 4th biggest golf manufacturer in the world I believe.

Why would you change?

Money

I am surprised as Cally seem to be moving up a gear in terms of their equipment especially the drivers. I don't think the Cleveland wedge side of things would be an issue as they do make great short game sticks and the Srixon ball is as good as the Pro V anyway. Not sure about the woods and irons but I guess it's like anything, if you are swinging well you can use whatever

Money talks and off the back of the back off this season he stands to get a few pennies in the retirement fund. If and it's a big if this year was the best he has to offer next year is a major looting year. Fair play to him but a big gamble

Bit surprising taking into account the season he's just had. However, Callaway Tour irons haven't really kept pace with other manufacturers recently, so in that sense it might not be a bad move.
