I've been thinking about buying a replacement putter and was maybe going to go down the route of TM''s newest Spider putter

A friend lent me a Scotty Futura x5 putter which I used on Wednesday and I have to say it felt pretty good and certainly didn't leave anything short unlike my current Oddessy does.

Anyone got any views?

I had one before my Newport. Was convinced the extra size of putter would help with stable putt. But I found I was pushing putter into green a little and struggled on the initiation of the putting stroke. That's obviously down to my poor stroke.

Overall felt nice nice when I hit it properly lol

In good nick would it be worth £100?

I use this putter. Certainly don't leave too many putts short.

Putting is the worst part of my game, not sure if it is the player or the putter though

I tried out the Scotty and the Spider recently but bought a Futura X7M in the end - for me the difference is the weight and stability which were greater on the Futura.

Having said that I have such a mental freeze on putting currently I have used 3 different putters over the last 3 rounds - and taken 2 or 3 out with me on practice rounds :o

Cannot translate the practice putting green or lounge practice onto the course - mental thing of course. I am currently feeling the Futura is a bit too heavy but may change my mind next time I pick it up.

No idea currently what I will use in medal on Sunday !!!

Don't think this will help you much other than to confirm a putter is a personal thing and the bit between the ears plays it's own special part.

Got one and absolutely love it. Wouldn't change it for anything.

2nd round with it and getting to like it more. The greens were slow but I got it to the cup more and felt it rolls the ball well. League match Wednesday so another chance to see if it performs!
