Funny old game

First qualifier of the year today, freezing cold and windy so not expecting much.

First hole I pulled my drive left (just in bounds), the pulled my 5 iron left (just inside the waste rough), then a 9 iron to 3 feet, walks off with a birdie and happy as Larry. Then followed 7 consecutive bogies !! Head down, but finished the nine with another birdie, so only 5 over after 9.

Quick pasty to try and warm up, and the 10th brings up my first par of the day !! ... followed by another bogie

Then starts a comeback with birdie (almost holed out at the par 3), then another birdie (3 inches from holing out from fairway), then slipped a birdie putt just past the lip. Par 5 15th and I holed a monster breaking birdie !! Finished the day with another 3 bogies !! Argh!!!!

So I finish with a 78 (2 under par), with just 2 pars on the card ... And 5 birdies !!!

It's a funny game isn't it, I should be quite pleased but I just feel frustrated that I could have had a much much better round. With any luck I'll get a handicap cut.

Oh well, onto next the next game

‎3rd in Div 1 for me. The CSS was 74 (SSS is 72). So that means my handicap goes down to 7.1

Wasn't expecting much of a trim to be honest, as we rarely see the CSS go higher than Par .... Now I'm just thinking of the stupid 4 footer I missed on the last
