Funniest comment at the open so far on Open Radio - Miguel Angel Jimenez when asked if he approached the course any differently when the weather was as calm as yesterday he replied, "No I always apprach the same way, get up, get in my car and drive to the course"

Did any of you see the banner for the two guys, one was a boilermaker and the other was a plumber, blatantly said 1937-2008 and 1936-2008 under their pictures. They were obviously two characters from somewhere that either played ST Andrews annually or went to each open there and sam torrence mulled it over for a few seconds then cringingly said they'll be laughing about this one back home for the next 5 years! Erm, no Sam, they're dead.

Not just me that noticed that then! I really do wonder what's happened to the Beeb Commentary team this last year. Peter Alliss, who is by far one of my favourite commentators of any sport, has become a cynical, senial, grumpy old man, Sam Torrence isn't what he once was.
At least Ken is still on par (no pun intended, honest!) and they're not as bad as the Sky Sports Commentary team. If I have to hear David Howell utter the phrase "Get in you little beauty!" one more time, I may have to stab my ear canals with a blunt fork.
Monty's face was a picture though.
Oh and that quote from Jimenez is blimmin' quality!

I have some sympathy.
He has to play Yonex clubs. My face would be miserable too, if I had a bag full of Yonex. When he's a bit older, he can play Ping. That's something to look forward to.
