We've had a thread about wedding music. My daughter, a Take That fan, wants to be cremated to "Relight my Fire". My son in law wants " Should I stay or should I go" with the coffin going backwards & forwards through the curtains. It would certainly lighten the tone. Any other suggestions?

I would have my pallbearers all in crombie's and docs and doing the Madness walk to any of my favourite tunes, possibly One Step Beyond :smirk:

My brother in law died young and they played cockney rebel west ham song really loud at the church the vicar had a big grin on his face. Ub40 many rivers to cross is mine. And fish night boat to Cairo would also be a cracker just for the sax.

Went to a funeral and they played Highway to hell as you walked in ! I fancy a bit of the Smiths when I go - Heaven knows I'm miserable now or Boys don't cry by the Cure

I told HID if she goes first i'll play Dance the night away by the Mavericks, the first line is " Here come my happiness again right back to where it should have been , now that she's gone and i am free " .
She knew i was only joking

My uncle was not religious and had a humanist ceremony, we entered the church to 19th Nervous Breakdown by the Rolling Stones, at the middle part of the ceremony Rainbows of my life was played by the Seekers and at the end, as both my aunty and uncle are/were very big George Thorogood fans, we left to Bad to the Bone.

I think the instrumental bit at the end of Alec Harvey's "Anthem" would be a good funeral tune, tear-jerking.

On the other hand I like "Highway to Hell" or "Burn Baby, Burn" for the cremation!

Make 'em sit through all 14 minutes of Freebird to start, then, when the curtains close at the crematorium, I think I'll have Jimi's Let Me Stand Next To Your Fire.
Exit crematorium to Bowie's Ashes To Ashes...

There will be NAE SINGIN'...
