I have the option to play one of these courses next week (already booked, Alwoodley, Ganton and Moortown), both are in my top 100 courses in england list, but for this trip i can only 'tick' off one.

any advice please?

In terms of logistics and cost, Fulford works out better.

Thanks

All I can say is that I've played Ilkley a couple of times and it has been fantastic both times. Lovely course in lovely surroundings. I'm pretty sure Fulford is good too from what I've read so maybe go for it if it fits better but would certainly recommend Ilkley if you are back in the area.

I played ilkely in June on a scorching hot day. A pleasure it was too.

Got waved through as a single player no problem.

I took some photos which I can post if you like.

Make sure you can fade the ball as the first seven holes run along the river and it helps to be able to shift the ball away from it. Lol

You won't be disappointed with either in terms of quality. However, if you play Fulford on a windy day, especially a cross wind, it can be hard work. Its an out and back course and it doesn't take any prisoners.

I've not played Ilkley so can't comment on it but I wouldn't rush back to play Fulford, I think it lives on it's history of holding a Tour event. Nothing wrong with Fulford but there are definitely better options.

Thanks guys, went with Fulford largely because it was £20 cheaper (£35 with a county card), and we could tee off an hour later, 8:10 @ Ilkley after a night out partying in leeds wouldn't have been too pleasant!
