HID wants to go there for a weeks break.

Never been there so no idea of which resorts to look at.

Any suggestions ?

TIA.

i went there for a week in 1997, it was a right dump, all you could see for miles was ripped Polly tunnels. It was a salt water swimming pool too, which i didn't know about, we got there at 6 am and the pool looked so inviting, so ran and jumped straight in, almost had a heart attach it was so cold.

Oh and there were hundreds of chipmonks, at least that's what they looked like.

Probably not much help, I know. weather was very nice in Feb though

I'm going next Saturday, was supposed to be going to Mexico but the Zika virus has forced us to reconsider, so chose this instead. Trip advisor reviews of our hotel look excellent, got a round booked at Jandia golf club for the Monday too.

I'll let you know how it is

I was very similar. We went to the English resort (sorry, can't remember the name of it) on the Island and it was an absolute dump. Visited the German resort which was much better. I'd recommend Playa Blanca in Lanzarote which is a great resort, things to do but not too chavvy. Or Puerto de Mogan in Gran Canaria, very nice.

Very surprised at some of these negative comments.
We went their 2008 and had a lovely time. We've been to all the Canary Islands and THIS is our favourite.
We stayed in Corralejo was lovely with its natural golden sand that's blown over from the Sahara. This part is a natural beauty park that is protected. It's popular for windsurfing due to the wind force, which we were warned about. However it didn't bother or spoil our holiday.
A mate of mine has been there last 3 years on the trot.
Love it would definitely go back.

that looks nice !

Sat down to look at at few of these last night and picked a few out for a short list, sadly the golf had no chance of getting on it.

She then decided to throw Crete into the mix :mmm:

Went last year on a last minute dash.

We just wanted sun guaranteed so it fit the bill lovely.

It is just an island of dust but if you want bar, sun lounger, pool, bar, sun lounger, pool on repeat then you won't go far wrong.

It is. There is one big resort/apartment place there that we stayed in The Cordian Mogan Valle Apartments that is like the standard apartments you get in these places. It's not ultimate luxury but we thought it was more than fine, couple of pools to stay around if you wanted to or you could walk down to the beach.

I would not recommend the all inclusive as whilst the food was OK, it was a bit of a bun fight as tends to happen in all inc places. And there are some lovely places to eat in the town itself. There is a hotel Mogan Player next to it if you prefer hotel rooms to apartments but I suspect it is a bit more expensive. Big supermarket on the doorstep of the apartments which stocked anything you'd need, plus the booze was a ridiculously cheap price in there. Kind of negated the need to go all inc for the booze as cans of beer were something like 25p I think.

Also many single apartments in the place itself if you want to do it yourself. Top place, not party central but I am not after than on holiday at my age. Classier than other resorts on the island but has everything you need including a good selection of restaurants and nice beach. Also the Island has some great courses on it if you can get a pass out ;) There was one very near Puerto de Mogan but it was a bit pricey for my tastes.

Thumbs up for this.
Just back last night, great weeks holiday, sadly no golf !

I went last October with the missus for a week and it was brilliant.
We're only 23 & 21 so were unsure if we'd have much to do out there.

Stayed in Corralejo which itself is beautiful, stayed in a hotel called Bahia de Lobos.

Its in a brilliant location and the apartments were huge! Lovely and spacious with great balcony's.
The only bad thing about it was a salt water pool but you got used to it in time!

Corralejo itself is brilliant, just enough amount of pubs/bars/restaurants to keep you going for a week and lost of activities/excursions to go on.

I'd recommend going on one of the buggy tours, we went on a half day one and it was absolutely brilliant, got to see some of the most beautiful sights i've seen and the drive itself was great fun with a good mixture of road/offroad driving and then the last stretch was all the way down the coast which was great!
If you go then avoid the zoo, it wasn't the best and quite pricy. Also it was miles away from Corralejo so the bus journey wasn't the most pleasant.

if you do go Corralejo then make sure you visit a restaurant called 5th Avenue, one of the best meals i've ever had. Ran by a scottish couple who were fantastic hosts and the food was to die for!

I'd definitely recommend going!

No problems, glad you enjoyed the place. We were looking at going back this October half term but then the mother in law said she wanted to pay to take us and the brother in laws family all away to The Algarve. And we found a nice set of apartments. Which completely coincidentally, are on a golf course. What were the chances of that happening.... ;)
