hi i am into my fourth week of having a full knee replacement and am currently the most frustrated man on the planet. Anyone else had this type of operation? how long before you wre swinging a club again? worst part is the weekend before the op i played at my club in the monthly medal using a biggy and plenty of drugs to get round i came second on count back and saw my first cut this year from 15 to 14. Although i have only been playing for 2 years i have decided to have some lessons before returning and am considering getting fitted for clubs i have listened very intently to the forum on theses subjects and feel returning with a new body part might be the time to make change what do you think?

Can't comment on the op other than to wish you a very speedy recovery.

I have bought new fitted clubs this year and together with regular lessons my game has improved significantly, it takes time but it is worthwhile.

Best of luck

also cant comment on the op apart from knowing people who have done it and its brought a spring back into their step (see what I did there), I think you'll find you will change from the old knee swing as you probably unconsciously protected it during the swing. Good luck, right time to do it as you have all winter for recovery

Not had a replacement though no doubt I will need one at some stage, but do understand your frustration. Have lost best part of 7 years of golfing to knee injuries and it can be hugely frustrating. Best of luck for your recovery

Here's wishing you a speedy recovery, mate. Looking forward to seeing you on the Westerham fairways very soon!

Dont know about the golf bit. But the Ex-mother-in-law. Had both knees done. She was running about as if nowt had happened after 4 months. Good luck with it. You should be back as good as new. But please dont rush it.

Wow, didn't realise anyone played as near as me. I play at knole golf club, ever played there?
God speed Marine, I've had knee problems for a year now, but the game of golf keeps me wanting more

Thanks mate hope to see you soon i'm looking forward to a re-match next year if you have not progressed to joining the cream and have nothing to do with us peasants!

thanks for your words of encouragement sadly never played Knole but i have a very limited golf CV having only started playing a little over 19 months ago but those courses i have visited i am reliably informed are of reasonable to good quality, when i'm back on my feet you must come and join me at westerham have you played it before?

I've never managed to get a round at Knole Park, but I hear it's very good. Assuming you've played Westerham, AllyLodge?

Sorry for going off-post, Gary! :o

I would imagine I'll be cat 3 for a while longer, but hoping to reach cat 2 by May. Happy to slum it with the hackers for the winter though. :p
