I had a great 1st year in golf and got to 14.8 however i feel the god of golf has decided to remind me who's boss. Despite my best efforts i have in the last 6 weeks been in the low 80,s and on the last three rounds hit 81 twice but cannot get into that 70 something world is it in my head or have i reached my peak?

If par is 72, then off 15 you would expect to shoot a reasonable round of 87, but more often than not, 90+.

To shoot 79, ie 7 over par, (half your handicap) regularly would be a joke, and you desperately need to get a hefty cut. That is twice a year style shooting, not weekly.

Agreed - although his scoring should be compared to SSS and not par. As a 15 handicapper (Cat 3), he would be expected to play to his course SSS +2 (i.e. nett 74 or better if SSS is 72) between 16% and 30% of the rounds he plays. If he is shooting better than SSS every time he plays, the big axe needs to descend.
