This morning at the seniors rollup the wind was from the North so I put on an extra layer just to be safe. (or so I thought)
Froze near solid and had the worst score ever.
Came home and ordered an Under Armour ColdGear Mock £34.99 from AG. HID is livid. :D
If this does not do the trick for me I might consider indoor games only over the Winter.

Good move, I was about to criticise you for moaning about being cold and not wearing a base layer but saw you had come to your senses at the end of the post! It should be sufficient for keeping you warm in any conditions when combined with a polo and sweater.

I really have to ask the big man in red for one of those this christmas. I played at the weekend and was blue by the end of it. I have an array of long sleeve tshirts which I wear under my golf shirts and fleece but still freeze to death!

If they are really that good I am sold!

Must be said I had a conversation on Saturday in the clubhouse about baselayers and after my round I was warm with the exception of my head being frozen!! baselayer, polo & lambswool jumper was fine.

All about having a good base layer.

Have you seen the hats they also do? They are hillarious, they make people look like Ali G on the golf course.

I find a rollneck under a jumper, topped off with my faithful Proquip jacket is plenty enough to keep me warm and toasty.
Add a nice bobble hat and I'm good to go.
Plus a splash of Armani and my box of Milk Tray
;)

I have an adidas winter base layer. Played saturday, had it laid out, but at the last moment decided not to wear it, so tee, polo, fleece, and then Sunday, snow etc, had it laid out, no, wore polo, tank top, waterproof (it rained). Problem is, I am scared of wearing it and being hot. Bought it a year ago, never tried it. Hmm. Ssame with waterproof socks. Never quite got round to wearing them. Would have been good oon sunday, as my socks wicked water from my ankles downwards. But no, still in the packet in my drawer.

I have to recommend underarmour also. Its well worth getting the long pants as well as the shirts.

In defence of the hats, I actually used to have one. Before you all abuse me though, before underarmour branched into other sports it was mainly aimed at American Football, hence the clever name!
The warm gear hats were designed to fit underneath a football helmet and keep you warm. Which is what I used mine for back in college. I think they also make a balaclava!

The base layers I've tried actually make me feel colder & not warmer, perhaps its not the right brand for me. Best advice in these conditions, always wear a comfortable wooly hat (not always easy to find a comfortable one) & invest in some of those mits to keep your hands warm. If you can keep your head, your hands & your feet warm, then you are unlikely to feel cold.

The Under Armour is designed to wick moisture away (as I believe are the Nike and Adidas ones) so the issue of getting too hot shouldn't arise. That said I got an UA beanie hat free recently and it has a nylon type material as part of the inside lining. The hat does keep you very warm (good times) but the lining does make your head sweaty (bad times)
