Played a round there yesterday with a pal of mine. We used a 2 fore 1 and it cost us £15 each. Never played there before but it is a local(ish) course and have been driving past it for last 5 years. Always liked the look of it from the outside and swore i would play it once i was at a decent level.

Decided to play it yesterday and teed off at 12:26. Course was very quiet but the car park/ clubhouse/ pro shop was heaving.

Very friendly politeful staff/members helped us find our way around(all day, tricky lay out)

Didnt really expect to score well, especially after slicing first tee shot and duffing the approach short but still made par (on a temp, 1 of 2 on the day)

Carried on regardless, and even with my new-ish swing (had lesson monday) i played really well, putting was ace even though the greens were bumpy and sandy.

Went out in 45 come back in 46. Hit a few decent pars and mostly bogied. Could have had a birdie on the 18th but put me tee shot O.B. Made par though.

Went into club house afterwards for a pint and to reflect on my best/most enjoyable round to date. (i thought 91 was pretty good for my first time there, and a new swing)

Had a good look around and a very helpful chap gave us the proper tour. Couldnt do enough for us. Turns out he remembered my mate who was a juniour memeber there 10 years ago and told him he would act as a proposer if he needed to.

Anyway was basically just a post to give them a thumbs up and to tell anyone to play it if you ever get a chance.

This maybe the place i start to call home!

I started my apprenticeship at Eastham many moons ago and I agree it’s a great little track. Not much ‘grip it and rip it’ attitudes there the course is tight and tricky, some much needed course management is what’s required.

you made a great score for a first round at the Lodge as many underestimate it and fall foul of the hidden hazards. Well done you and thanks for bringing my old memories flooding back!

It is a great club and very friendly, I am sure you will be happy there!

Purchasing Quality Golf Equipment at Affordable Prices

Perhaps one of the most important factors in influencing the decision to start any new sport is cost. Golf unlike some sports requires a plethora of golf equipment from the beginning including golf clubs, accessories, balls, shoes and suitable clothing – especially if you’re considering to take-up the sport in winter; put simply, golf equipment is a huge part of the game and entry costs such as lessons, membership and driving range fees can be equally so.

Before the dawn of online retailing the pro shop, franchised high street store and direct mail organisations held the monopoly on ‘expensive’ golf equipment. Ever increasing overheads were inherent to such retail outlets – with margins especially tight on top branded golf equipment – retailers were faced with two options; absorbing (to a point) all overheads or increasing their prices.

Re: Unsolicited Advertising

Please don't do this.

You've hi-jacked a thread with a blatant advetisment for your own organisation and the benefits of online buying.

If you are a reputable organisation you will have thought about the negative effect your spamming of this forum may have on your business. You have chosen to take that risk, now you will have to deal with the consequences.

Try the TG forum or Golf Magic, they may be more likely to elicit a response from potential customers.

Thank you

Re: Free Plug for Eastham Lodge GC

Hey Tony

Another course that's 5 minutes from my Outlaws that I've been going past for 20 years and never played!!

One day, One day.

If you get a meet going there I may be interested as I can stay over at their place next to Bromborough GC.

Tony, like Homer said, maybe you should drop a line to the club as well telling them how much you enjoyed it. It might make joining, if you do, all that smoother.

As for the ass wipe who happened to defecate over this thread    :(

Guys, this is a very old thread. I obv didn't join cause I am now at Mollington but I want to change this year. I would love to join here, but I feel it's a little to far away for me considering what I have around me. Have played this course again since and it was great. Definitly one to do in the summer.

Imurg, I will sort something out in the summer. Be it here I'd bromborough,

Dave, I shall add this one to the north west thread later when I get on the laptop.
