I would think that advertisers want as much visibility as possible, so, if subscriptions or sales of the magazine were falling, then the only way to appease the advertisers is to give it away.

I don't know why people subscribe or purchase NCG as they are delivered in the bundles to golf clubs and can be also found in AG's. Midland Golfer is a growing publication and again is free with loads of National news as well as loads of local Midland content.

I'd think that the revenue from the advertisers far out weighs that of subscriptions & sales and maybe with a greater visibility guaranteed the advertisers would pay more, if so that could offset the revenue gained from subs & sales and then allow the publications to be given away and put in clubs and golf stores across the UK?
