All, O2 are giving 2 free TaylorMade Balls in AG, offer available via O2 App,

I use a Nokia 3310....wonder if I can get them without having an app

Hope it's more than just today, I'm at work in an hour! Thanks for the heads up, is it the O2 priority moments thing? Been needing an excuse to go and try out that putting challenge.

That's where i'm headed!

What time u off there? I have a lunch on Broadgate, I will probably leave the office about 4ish (Liverpool St) and walk down, may even stop for a pint somewhere if you fancy having a go at the putting challenge!

I will probably go down about 12:30. Got a meeting 2-4 then come back & finish bits off ready for a relaxing Friday.

Well, I went in today and got my free TP balls. Beware, here comes another AG rant, the one attached to Sainsburies opposite Heaton Park Nr Middleton for anyone who lives locally...

I didn't see anywhere in the T&C of the O2 offer that you HAD to sign up to their members card service to get the balls. I was told at AG that it was necessary. When I enquired if there was a charge to join the club, it was met with a sarcastic comment "Oh yeah it's £600 a month mate". Got my balls.

I then asked about having a go at the putting challenge. Oh yes no problem just go and browse and I'll be over in a couple of minutes to set you up. 20 minutes later of wandering aimlessly/waggling drivers I pass the counter next to the staff member dealing with me (Store Manager no less...) and get no reaction, face glued to a screen. Wander for another 10 minutes, mingling around the other 4 staff members in store at the time who didn't have customers to deal with. 3 of them heard me when I asked to do the putting challenge as they were at the desk as well at the time.

35 minutes of wandering later, I have other things to do today and I leave. But that's ok, because they managed to get me to sign up to their members club which I will almost certainly use once in a blue moon, if at all.

I get the feeling that the staff had formed an opinion of me very quickly, as I walked in to get the free balls and I said I have no handicap when being asked questions for the members card. The opinion that I was just there for the freebies and wasn't really a serious golfer worth their time. I was going to buy a couple of FJ gloves, but decided against it after being ignored for about half an hour.

.....and breathe.
