Guess who's not playing golf for awhile? Me? Good guess

Spent 4 hours in hospital and eventually got scans back, Fractured in thumb not a big fracture so that should heal OK and ligament damage severe enough the hospital said they gotta check to make sure it heals properly.

They seemed more concerned with the ligament damage then the fracture will eventually all heal OK already missed 4 weeks of golf from it and that's my 2015 over with.

Looking now to be back in action around my birthday in February

Sympathies OP.. hurts like hell I bet. Good time of year to miss a bit of golf if necessary though..

I lost approx.7 weeks a few years ago detaching a ligament in my thumb (the one connected to my wrist which snapped as I accidentally bent the thumb back too far) but it didn't take long to get up and running by following the Dr's orders.. Got to watch the procedure too as they drilled through the bone and reattached it

Deliberate handball? Hope you got a yellow for it! Or if your a goalie, did you at leadt get the ball out of play before going down in a heap... :D

Best of luck with the recovery buddy

I cut through my tendons in the left thumb in April and it cost me 13 weeks (20 qualifiers) before I was allowed to even pick up a club again to do some "resistance physio", the exercises they give you must be done or you can end up with a stiff claw like thumb, you really don't appreciate the work the thumb gets involves in, don't rush back, get it fixed properly, I'm glad I was sensible [for once] with my physio & treatment.
