Foxhills , Longcross Course

Played it many years ago, pretty decent course where you can't really spray it around too much. No idea on the present condition. The Longcross is definitely the better of the two courses though

Nice enough course, but when I played there last April, the greens were the worst I have ever played on. Hopefully they have improved considerably for you Phil.

There is a very nice gym/spa there, with a nice selection of local Surrey talent. Highlight of the day to be honest.:)

Very tight off the tee in places and if the greens are in good condition they are quick and subtle. The gym/spa does draw the eye it must be said

I think we were probably just unlucky with the timing, but the greens were worse than our temps. They certainly didn't suit my silky smooth stroke.:rofl:

Played there a couple of times, most recently last Monday. The greens were tined a couple of weeks ago but were well on the way to recovery last Monday so should be fine when you get there. Not a long course but quite tight so you need to be straight off the tee. All in all it's a decent track, I like it.

Just got back from playing it today at a charity event!

Course is pretty tight, but not overly long - greens weren't great I didn't think, they've obviously had an issue as some looked like they'd had parts of them replaced, they weren't very quick and were pretty bumpy.

not played for a few years but a nice site, good layout but when I have played poor conditioning. Great potential but a long way off from fulfilling it. It is over the road from Queenwood and is undoubtedly a better site - if Queenwood had have bought Foxhills and spent money on it, it could be better than Queenwood!

They were recently worked on and there are a couple they have struggled with water logging on. They have actually made a couple of them smaller to remove some of the worst areas from being part of the green (longish par 3 on the front nine being one).

Bit of a "Woburny" feel to it in places. As others have said, pretty tight, and it helps to have played it before. Weird closing hole in my opinion....double green if memory serves me correctly

Well managed to accumulate 34 points and 2nd place :)

Really is a lovely place, and yes very Woburnesque in its tree lined fairways.

didnt think the greens were too bad, certainly true to the eye.

However I must gripe about the ridiculously small nouveau cuisine portions, come on, lets have some proper grub !!

It was very nice, there just wasnt enough of it

And you're a man who hasn't knowingly passed up too many seconds. Well played though. What won?

The Old School Cafe has a pretty good reputation and is quite nearby a few holes! (7, 15)

Sunday Lunch is pretty phenomenal though - provided you go easy on the wine!

I was watching Tennis - $25k Ladies Aegon tournament featuring some who are at US Open Qualifying this week - and auditioning Drivers there last week. Coach of one of them was slightly 'underwhelmed' with early holes - 2-iron wedge on all the first 3! He didn't get to play the Bernard Hunt course as, in spite of being top seed, she lost in Quarters.

Biggest problem course(s) have is that, except for a couple of holes on BH, the complex is on Clay - Queenwood less than half a mile away is actually on Sand. So drainage is a major issue. It's a 7 or 8 month/year Golf complex and a very expensive one even if it was full year! Doesn't seem to lack custom during the Summer though - plenty of Golf Days!

I heard Queenwood is not naturally sandy - they just sandcapped the whole place with about one foot of sand before building!
