what is the correct order of play for a four ball better ball. ie team A both play one after the other the team B play or is the order different.

From the tee I assume?

I always thought the team has the honour, based on the best individual score on the previous hole.
So both members of the team that has the honour tee off.

Thats how we always do it as well. The recurring question that crops up is if its the best gross score or best nett score. So if my playing partner and I get a 4 nett 3 do we take the honour if someone gets a 4 gross without a shot on the hole? Not that we angst much about it just get on with it usually but there is always the odd stickler !

It's a team game so team with best score first whichever order they choose, then the opponents/ FC's.
Same for further shots it's the 'team' furthest from hole to play but again in whichever order they see fit.

In Matchplay, you have to Win the Hole for the honour to change.

In plain Strokeplay, best Gross score; in Stableford and other variants, best <whatever> score.
