I dont talk about myself very much because there isn't much to talk about?
However some of you will know that I had a Heart Attack about eighteen months ago and had open heart surgery(quadruple By-pass) its taken me much longer to get over than i first thought.
Subsequently i.ve had lots of 0.1's back only hiiting the buffer zone on a few occasions and never coming near winning anything,very frustrating but ok as I am healthy.
So a week before last I went up to 12.6 or thirteen as you know.On the 18th of sept I invited GJBike(Graham) to our invitation day he played really well off 3/4 handicap (10 shots each) I didn't play to badly came in eight times on the card. we ended up with 38 points. A good effort as there had been a major the day before so the course was playing to it's full length with some whicked pins.
Last week I had some time off work at last so I entered the weds comp came in with 37points not great but not bad and 0.3 off now back to 12.3.
This saturday i wasn't expecting much at all as you don't usually play to your handicap twice in a row well i dont anyway.
I had a great start? double bogie oh no here we go again? on 2 i hit a five iron to fifteen feet 172yard par3 pin at the back holed the putt, birdy. so the round contiued at the turn i was +3 38 how long could i keep it up. Our back nine is brutal at times on 17 and 18 two par 4s both have long carries and there are two long par 3s to contend with.
Well i managed to nudge it round in 40 +4 so a gross 78 and a net 66.Very happy to be showing some form at last.
Did I win? No someone came in with a 65 off 24. I came second.Now down to 11.5 so still 12 but progress at last.
