It's been 4 months since I cleaned my clubs and emptied the bag!

As we are playing the first round of the Cornish Bowl tomorrow against Radnor Golf club I decided to give the clubs a clean and empty the bag.
They were the dirtiest they have ever been to the point I had to evict two potato farmers from the grooves in my 7 Iron!

Found 8 gloves that I didn't know I had, over 100 balls ( no wonder the bag was heavy!) and more junk than I care to remember.

I once left a sandwich, contained in a plastic box, totally forgot it was there, was clearing out my bag, the cheese and Bread had gone mouldy...

My 'mate' was walking around the course and very proudly explaining how he had 132 golf balls in his bag... When I saw his first tee shot, I knew he needed all 132..

You haven't lived unless you've found a black furry banana in the side pocket and had to fish it out on a cold February morning.

Yep done that. Reached into the side pocket searching for something & the furry banana just squelched in my hand.

Hmmm off to the naughty corner for you then ha ha. I clean my clubs etc at least every other time I use them, following the belief I can't be any better than I am but I can be worse by using poor kit. I love my grips tacky, so they are scrubbed with very hot water and my wedges and Irons are brillo padded when required. My Mizunos are forged so if you don't keep up with them they soon go pretty rusty and scruffy.

If I don't clean mine after every round I start getting agitated. My clubs are 18 months old and someone the other day thought they were new. I think I'd have a breakdown after 4 months of not cleaning them. My bag gets cleared out at the same time

I once found a Skycaddie in my bag that I had convinced I'd lost on the course 3 months earlier, I only found it because I was giving my bag a clean out before the start of the season in April.

No space in the bag for anything to go mouldy and food never lasts to the end of the round either!
I've done my penance and some today. I think I repaired 20 pitch marks on a neutral venue course we have a match on.

After my earlier confession I decided to clean out my bag, found a jumper and pair of trousers I was convinced were lost also 3 pairs of socks and 6 gloves.

I have this strange notion the grooves in my irons are put there for a reason, so I clean them before every comp I play in and check them from time to time during the round.

As far as my bag is concerned, let he who is without sin cast the first stone

I spend most of the time in the thick rough and with all this water about its an ideal time to carry out some club cleaning! ;)
