Staying here next week and playing 2 rounds of golf, what are the courses like? Do they have good warm up facilities and is it expensive for drinks, snacks etc.

Like any resort drinks are not cheap, better than going on in the "town" unless it's to the Tom woods pub ( if still there)

live very close, its fantastic, you'll love it - played last week, the course is in fantastic nick, greens great and loads of interesting holes. the trees make it a challenge, but it's cut under the trees so finding your ball is usually quite easy.
It's about as expensive as it can get though for drinks. Pint is £4.50, Burger is £13 that sort of price range - BUT I paid £17.50 to play which is astonishing value, so it still works out well.

We are looking to book our annual trip to Forest Pines for next year so will be looking with interest. Communication with the hotel so far has been great, even offered us a complimentary 4ball to come play before we stay.

Stayed there a few years ago on a weekend package deal, the golf was excellent as were all the leisure facilities.
We had one nights dinner included in the package and on the second night we got a taxi into Brigg had a few beers around town then a meal and finally a taxi back, all for much less than the cost at Forest Pines.
As mentioned above it seems to be the norm in these places and is now accepted, that after the bargain price of the package they make their money back once you are there.

Prepare for the ratttle of ball on wood. Very tight, practise your hybrids / irons off the tee before you go.
Practise area is fine. Prices are hotel rather than club prices but I suspect you are getting a good deal, FP is always doing deals, so that balances things out. The thing that amazes me about the place is how good the condition of the course is considering the number of golfers that go on there.

Get there before the GM social, there may not be much of a course left afterwards
If it's still standing when we go then it won't be after.

I've visited twice now (both for residential golf breaks) and could not believe how superbly manicured the fairways and tees were when you take into account the amount of traffic that all three courses must get.
The greens were okay, but on one occasion they had been punched and topdressed just prior to our visit, and although they ran well they were a bit unsightly.
But a good venue.

Played there in April and it was nice, there is 3 loops of 9.Lots of trees as the name would suggest, you need to drive well to score.Prices no worse than any other resort course.I am a member at Oulton hall so use to resort prices.

Great track. My other half's Mum lives in Brigg so I'm over that way reasonably often. I'd join in a heartbeat if I lived over there.

Played there last year when i went away for a weekend with the other half.
Practice area was a little short iirc. Wasn't allowed to hit driver I think.
Course was in great condition. Only played front 9 in the end as there were about 20 pople waiting to tee of when I got to the back 9. Which was a shame as it was a great place.

It's a top course. Three loops of nine, Forest, Pines and Beeches. Forest and Pines are my favourites but all three are a challenge if you're not straight off the tee!
Food and drinks are expensive, but it's a 4* hotel so that shouldn't be a surprise!

Played it 4 times on various golf breaks. Practice area is OK but you are limited to irons as it is not that long. As others have said there's 3 loops of 9 so you have players crossing over a lot between the loops. They marshall it very well though. Drinks and food are par for the course for hotel resorts, relatively expensive but kind of expected nowadays.
If I had a tip it would be to try and avoid teeing off late morning as tees can get very busy, seen 4 4 balls waiting before at weekends. All 3 loops are very good, ensure you play all of them if you are playing 2 rounds. Pines was my favourite though. As the name would suggest lots of trees, but at times that is good as it prevents balls flying into neighbouring fairways all the time.

I'd also check golfbreaks and your golf travel as they both do deals there if I were you. But complimentary 4 ball is a nice gesture so fair play to them for that.

Yes could get it on golf breaks and get the breakpoints but will go through the hotel as they have been spot on so far. We've been to Carden, Rudding, Formby Hall, Slaley and they've matched any deal we've previously had with them too, although there could be 24 of us so they'll get some money back over the bar and in the clubhouse.
