Just wondering what the opinion would be if the Forum was to set up a FOR SALE + SWAP section. Everbody has unwanted clubs gathering dust which could be sold on or swapped.

Include clothing/golf clubs/anything to do with golf really. No 3 piece suites or anything!!!!

Thoughts???

Good idea,
Should probably start a new forum for this, keep it separate from the normal banter?

Nice idea, having recently changed my irons I am looking to sell a set of Di7s but loath to use ebay.

I think it would be a great success. Who moderates and do you think they would welcome it?

Bit like the old Lada jokes,

"Can I have a windscreen wiper for my Lada please....."

"OK sir seems a fair swap"

OK I'll crawl off back to my cave.

can i put the wife on here :D two previous owners , well worn and has given great pleasure over the years but fancy a change. no reasonable offer refused !!

my other forum has a for sale/swap section. you can't post until you have reached a certain number of posts. it works BRILLIANTLY, it's simply incredible how many folks are searching for things that other members have. even if it was not considered popular, it might be good, even if one could post a link to ebay or whatever.

GET THIS SECTION UP AND RUNNING ASAP I SAY!

Ahem - hate to be a spoil-sport, but doesn't this lay us open to even more advertisers?
And what happens over payments, security, etc.
Ebay may have its problems but there are some safeguards built in. Other swap shops (freecycle) operate on face to face basis, okay for those who live in the same area.
I suggest if we want to flog stuff we use pm system only. I can't think GM would want to get involved in our deals.
(Bet I am now proved wrong!)

Great idea. Ali has a good point too. FGI forum has a thriving sales/swap forum where people post what they want or have for sale and people PM them with offers. I know it works really well.

I've a nice set of Mizuno MX15s with brand new Lamkin crossline grips in reg flex going ;-)

Selling 2nd hand stuff can be problematic, with poor descriptions and dodgy money transactions being two of the problems.

Golf bidder used to allow people to sell stuff on its' site, but they stopped this due to too many dodgy deals.

Be surprised if the mag want to get involved, as if there are any disputes, who would act as regulator?

Best bet if you want to sell anything would be to add it to your sig, and people can pm you if they are interested.

Hi all

I have logged the request for a new board on the forum with out digital development guys (I only wish our content management system allowed us to do so we could make it happen immediately, but it doesn't) - however we are in the process of giving the whole site a major revamp (lots of exciting new things, due to be live for mid March) so they may come back to me and tell me it'll have to wait until then and be incorporated in the new build

cheers
