As i seem to just post pictures of bland ,boring seaside courses ( St Andrews ) thought i would post some pictures of this cow field i played at the weekend :o :D

Apologies for the photo quality as the iphone ain't the best ,the course is The Roxburghe in the borders, a nice course ,but some serious climbs from greens to tee's,the greens were a bit mossy but receptive enough the bunkers were a let down no sand in them overall a nice course which played a bit long.

Was totally knackered when i came of mate, then everything became a blur about 11pm :D :D :D. Nice enough track tho a bit overrated IMO( apols Bordergolfer) , a few to many blindish drives ,then hitting to raised greens it seemed to be muchness on alot of the holes, was a bit of a slog in the end but for this time of year and after the recent weather cant really complain when it cost nowt.
The clubhouse was no bad , the staff were really nice and helpfull and nothing was to much problem .

Verdict, wouldn't rush back and have played better inland courses ,Muckhart,Letham Grange Downfield.

Played the Roxburghe last summer and really enjoyed it, was in good condition and the greens were super but as you say it is a bit of a slog, even in good conditions, but dont think they can justify the cost of a green fee, although we got on for zilch.

Would definately like to play there again but wont pay the asking price as there are better courses for half the price.
