For all the Cat 1 golfers

If anyone harbours Cat 1 ambition then I'd agree with HH's point - getting to 12 is not a big challenge if the ability is there to get under 5.

Exactly ... Eventually someone that talks sense.

It's a crime on here if you talk out loud and god forbid don't dare try it when your lower than 14.

I'll keep a look out on this and here's hoping that Pistol Peter makes it.

It always makes me smile when someone asked a question of a certain handicap , then half the replies are not from this group. Oops!

I won't give you any advice though Pete cos I'm far from a cat 1 myself;)

Good luck though in getting to cat 1.

Lets home the SGU adopt ESR so everyone you shot a couple of good scores you might get an additional cut;)

It doesn't make there points an less relevant. I am sure the chap who coaches Rory or Tiger is probably no as good as either of those two.

No problem with speaking out loud, its just how you do it.

Your target should be single figures then worry about cat 1 , many never get pass 10 and some don't want too as the like to play in the B league club matches for 11 to 18 handicaps .......................................................:oy:fore:

There are certain ways to say things

Pistol Pete has already stated that certain handicaps don't take golf seriously because they are high handicappers and are only out there for a hack

Then you suggest that getting to 12 isn't a challenge

Maybe both need to judge their audience

I'm guessing that the majority of people on this forum are over 12 handicap and a good deal are high handicappers - so you have both just given them all a square kick in the nuts

Both should remember the average handicap for golfers

He calls them chompers on HDID , check it out for yourself ..........................all golfers should be respected regardless of handicap .....................:oy:fore:

Hi guys, thanks for all the advice some good points there that will help me, I hope.

I agree with HH that playing off 12 is not great and that I class myself as a high handicap golfer but my plan is to play better and put the time and effort in so I can hopefuly get my handicap down to a reasonable level. I am a good putter and my bad shots are slicing it off tee and my short game so think that's what I need to work on are there any tips on how to prevent a slice that could help.

Pete.

Well actually I think it does!

If a guy asks cat 1 holders how they got there. What relevance do the comments of those who haven't made it to cat one have ????

Pete.

How many putts per round Pete? Specifically how many putts per GIR?

With the slice....how much movement are we talking?

WRONG - All golfer's shouldn't be respected, in any sport there's a cut off point.

I don't agree with the respect point, but if I wanted to know how to get to cat 1 I'd ask someone who'd done it.

Not sure what relevance those who haven't can have to the conversation, I include myself in that.

It wasn't a technical swing point, but a query about how to

Point of order gents
The Forum is a place for Golfers of all capabilities , where everyone is to be treated with respect

Such phrases as "hackers , weekend warriors, Chompers " etc are frowned upon when used in a derogatory manner

So now you all know
