Hi Guys,

I bought some Footjoy Hydrolite BOA from our pro shop less than a year ago for about £89. Around 2 months ago I realised the sole was coming away so took them back into the pro shop and they returned them to FJ.

FJ confirmed almost immediately that they would give me a credit for the shoes, so knowing I was getting the credit I bought another pair for £79.

Roll forward around 7 weeks and FJ have finally given a credit, but it's only for £51.78. I cannot understand how they have got to this figure, and was also wondering what rights do I have with this?

I don't want to upset the pro or the club, but can't say as I'm particularly happy with FJ's customer service.

The last and i mean last pair of FJ shoes i had, The XPS or whatever they were called split along the sole and was given a full refund by FJ and i mean full RRP.

I used the credit to buy a pair of Ecco BioM in Yak leather. ;)

Been told that they cannot give full refund as the shoes are worn. Effectively they rate them and give a credit on what they think the shoes would be worth now.

Bit annoyed but doesn't seem to be much I can do unfortunately.

WHAT????????? of course they are worn! how else could they 'FAIL' unless you wore them. The guarantee is 1 yr and they should repair or replace or refund what you paid- that's your rights

When I bought my pair of FootJoys they came with a warranty / guarantee card which needed to be filled in and sent off. If you didn't do that then the argument is (I guess) there's no way of telling when they were really purchased. It was also supposed to be signed by the pro who sold them (which mine wasn't). Lucky for me there still going strong 3 years later - although they are white & spikeless so only really get summer wear.

Totally agree, there is no way that they should apportion what you have paid for them because they have been used. I had a faulty pair previously (Boa system seized up on one shoe). They did not credit back the full amount that I paid to the pro shop, they credited the pros account with the wholesale price he paid and the pro then gave me credit to the full retail value of the shoes.
