Was it just me or were England dreadful today and should have been 2-0 down before they showed any remote interest in playing. The final scoreline was flattering and caused to a great part by the oppositions poor fitness levels. If that had been any team of a decent standard that performance would have been a disaster.

Barry. Looked totally lost and disinterested.
Johnson. Not international class defender
Rooney. Lost out wide although to be fair starved of service.
Walcott. Looked rusty.

The rest were probably no better

Cannot comment as it was on Setanta so no way for me to see it. Who on earth thought it was a good idea to split matches between companies so as you need 3 subscriptions to see all of the matches.

As you guys know. I'm not much of a football follower. But Today England played some ex Russian State, and on Wednesday, I believe we are playing Andorra.

Are we in a group of countrys that aren't really known for there football prowess? Or am I wrong, and actually the tiny country of Andorra is actually a legend in international circles?

It just struck me that the 'great' English football team should be 'walking' these qualifiers!

What's wrong with us!

Its always the same for England, we have finished our season with two easy games that should be walks in the park and any team would be the same. Given the option of playing for England against two poor teams or being on holiday somewhere I would rather be on holiday.

ps. There second chance was a mile off side.

I feel less inclined to follow international football these days, especially when you have to pay for it. Its an absolute disgrace in my eyes and the F.A at least should ensure football is on a free to watch channel.

They wonder why support is lacking, who wants to pay to watch a championship side play a league 1 side dressed as an international?

Erm, we are walking the qualifiers, we haven't dropped a point yet including an away victory in Croatia. Give Capello time as he is bringing things round after Schteve McClaren's disaster.

This is what pisses me off more than anything about team England and their fans...

You're top of the group, unbeaten and on your way to the world cup. A sign of a good team, is one that can win when not playing well. You have nothing to worry about and yet you're still all moaning about it!!!! Get a grip. Enjoy it while you're winning and get behind your team.

Thankfully, Norway could only manage a draw at the weekend so Scotland are still well in with a chance of making the play-offs - it'll be tight squeeze though.

Tell you what though, i wouldn't mind us playing rubbish against teams like Kazakhstan but still beating them 4-0!!!

It's the results that matter - especially at this stage of the competition.

This is the problem with us Slugger.
Coz we one the WC once we expect to win it every time. And when it doesn't happen we get cross.

If you believe the FIFA rankings we are currently, what, 6th?

That translates into being knocked out in the quarter finals - something we seem to be quite good at. Occasionally we upset the form book and get to a semi but lets be realistic. We ain't gonna win the WC again. We may play well, we may walk the qualifiers - but there are much better teams out there than us, much better.

glen johnson is an international defender he may not be ramos or alves but he is solid. its still a relatively new team in terms of tactics.
