After PMing Bob with a question about my swing and my stomach, I decided to follow his advice and go to the Gym, I went this morning for an induction where I was tortured on a series of diabolical machines which systematically removed my perspiration and dignity. After what seemed like a week but was only 90 minutes I was allowed to leave. I showered, then went to the golf club looking forward to using my new athletic body I now obviously have, unfortunately I couldn't lift the golf bag out of the car, or indeed get out of the car, as I was now so stiff that my new amazingly toned body would not work without inducing pain into every muscle in my body. Even my hair was hurting and I am bald, it was that bad. I returned home and cannot report any improvement in my golf, to add insult to injury, the Gym have called to confirm my appointment for next week. Apparently I have to go again!!! Is there another way Bob??

Enjoyed reading that!

If its any consolation, next week will be a bit, just a bit easier and you'll feel just a tad, a tad less stiff afterwards. It will get better:D

The bad news is that you will probably be sorer tomorrow!

And if over a certain age, the following day night be worse!

While the 'no pain no gain' saying is generally true, some of the pain could be from muscles that haven't been used for some time. And some my be too much stress on well used ones.

While an induction/assessment can be 'power' based and you really don't know how hard to push during the induction, I believe exercise for golf is generally tone and flexibility based. I'd suggest you concentrate on the ones that are either general or golf focused and reduce the 'weight' involved - perhaps increasing reps. Many of these don't actually need apparatus - sit ups, plank for example.

Good Luck!

Do some for me too please! :D
