When I reach the end of my follow through my body seems to naturally want to recoil about halfway (so arms are pointing roughly at the target). I've tried holding the final position (with club draped down the back) but it feels un-natural amd stressful.

Is this weird?

Its cos youre an old fart and not as supple as these young 'uns (just like me) ;)

I am the same Tim , I recoil back to where my body naturally wants to finish

Are you carrying to much hand/arm speed to your finish position?

I remember reading GM a few months back (December I think) with Hunter Mahan talking about a soft finish to the swing.

Yeah Jammy is right, its probably just a flexibility thing.

I guess in theory though it could also be down to your swing and the way you release the club aswell. I know, for me personally anyway, that when Im swinging well I naturally find myself in a comfortable finishing position, whereas when I'm swinging badly I finish in all sorts of strange positions...

When reading that last sentence back I can see that if put in a different context it could sound very dodgy...

Another recoiler here. If I think about it and consciously try to hold the finish position I can but it's not natural.

Unless my memory's worse than I thought Greg Norman used to do it too.

Hello Timgolfy, see my thread "too many don`t know the rules" wherein you will find that goldenbare has suggested I am your alter ego, just spotted your Name, until then I thought it was derisery golfing term I hadn`t heard of.
thought you might like a laugh and be aware you are being blamed for postings by oltimer.
