Fog lights...

I don't understand! It takes extra clicks or button pushes to put on fog lights, what's their thinking?

Daylight running lights though I'm a big fan of.

Your fog lights do not actually give you any more visability in normal lighting conditions, they are just handy as they are low mounted so when it is foggy people can see you from further away.

But it does @@@@ me off when you are going down the road and someone is coming towards you with bright fog lights on dazzling you. I normally find returning a set of XENON on full beam at them gives them the hint.....

Even worse for me are people who don't put any lights on when it's foggy or really heavy rain even though everyone else has their lights on.

Plenty of folks round our way that don't realise they haven't got their lights on when it's pitch black out, then just look at you as if you've got two heads when you try to point in out!

Can't speak for the rest of the continent but in Poland if you're driving, day or night, you've got your lights on!

I HATE IT!!! No issue with the front lights but the BRIGHT red rear just makes me stair at it and sucks me on on the motorway!

Front fogs - just a fashion thing, usually youngsters thinking they look cool around town. I don't necessarily agree that they are a dazzle hazard in most circumstances. I just look at them in the same way I look at a clapped out Fiesta or similar with "privacy" glass and rear spoiler.....and think "tosser".

Rear fogs - on a busy motorway can be an absolute danger. They come into view, look like braking ahead and cause all sorts of issues. What annoys me is that so many drivers switch them on when visibility is still about a mile!!

I like to put my rear fogs on when some idiot is up my arse. The look on their face is priceless

And then they possibly break sharply which could endanger people behind them ?!

Fog lights on is stupid when it's not foggy ! Putting them on to scare people it think you are breaking is also not clever

Rear fogs should only come on when visbility gets to 100m or less....
If you need fogs on there's quite a good case for maybe not being on the road at all.....

But i'm long gone by then

You just back from your neighbourhood watch meeting phil?

Nothing to do with neighbourhood watch etc blah blah - that's blatant dangerous actions whilst driving - but it's ok if that action causes a crash

"but I'm long gone by then" !!

I thought I read in a previous post that you are a member of the Emergency Services. If so then that is a rather strange attitude to have.
