Anyone got any suggestions for a fly repellent that works but doesn't leave you whiffing like an explosion in a chemical factory..?

Avon skin so soft. Don't know why but it's brilliant. Used it on camping trips to Scotland, where the midges have tattoos.

I heard last year that Avon have changed the formula of Skin So Soft, and it no longer acts as a midge repellant.

As stated I think Smidge is the best but only for midges. I don't know of anything suitable for ordinary flies.

I use Jungle formula insect repellent and it works well, but it does stink, well i hope it's the formula that stinks and not just me.:D

Be careful if you use Skin So Soft as it's oil based and will stain your clothes and burn your skin in the sun, but at least you'll smell nice.:D

I don't think skin so soft actually repels midgies... it always seems to me that it doesn't rub in so midges that land on you just drown in the stuff...!

Next time you play ask a PP to leave his underpants at home. That should keep any flys away from you.
That aside, Missis T was checking up on what Missis prefer to chew on, O positive blood and sweating alcohol are two of the Biggest likes for mossier. Am gonna be eaten alive.

Ordered some Smidge yesterday so hoping it works as already had a couple of nasty bites this year - nasty blighters seem to like how I taste despite smearing Marmite on all exposed skin
