Afternoon Gents,

Visiting Florida next month & im looking at picking up a 5 wood & some clothing if the price is right.

I was wondering if anyone here has been over there before & could recommend any decent shops out there

Thanks in advance

I go to america a lot. Clubs are a fraction cheaper but then you have no come back. As for cloths, i've found Them more expensive as are shoes. The real saving is on balls. "dicks sports" always do specials. I bought 10 boxes of nike tour one d's because they worked out at £9 a box. They should be £30. You might find a good bargain here and there but dont get excited.

I always go to Dicks Sporting Goods. Not because of the cheap prices but because the name makes me laugh. And their gun selection is second to none. I remember once walking through the entrance to one just as someone was trying out a gun at the gun counter by kind of aiming it around the store. And I just happened to be in the firing line. Looking back I know it was not loaded, but in the split second as I walked in all I saw was someone aiming a gun at me. So my instinct was to hit the ground in a hurry. I must have looked a prize tool to anyone watching as I hit the deck.

As has already been no doubt mentioned many times you can get clothes just as cheap in the UK now from various web sites. And last time I was there recently new clubs were just about the same price. Remember there is almost always state and federal tax to add onto the ticket price you see. And second hand clubs were just as cheap in the UK what with various web sites always having a sale of some sort. It's not like the good old days of $2 to £1.

The exchange rate means the days of bargains are over.
But what you will find it loads more choice.
Even the small Edwin watts stores are big! Nice women's clothing if you're into that sort of thing...

I bought a full set clubs, bag ect in Canada a good few years ago , as a non resident i was able to claim the tax back . Our friend worked in tax the system and did all the paper work . I don't if its the same in the U.S.

I'm just back from myrtle beach and was in "martins golf store" and Edwin watts, both were slightly more expensive than here, for everything

Where is the Edwin Watts shop in MB? I've only seen Martins and Golf Dimensions.

Edwin Watts,
Golf Galaxy
Dicks

3 best options for equipment but don't expect big savings (if at all) unless you want end of line stuff. As for clothes, under armour, Adidas and Nike have outlet stores.

Wouldn't waste time if it were me. Golf balls are cheaper as has already been said but as for everything else it can be found as cheaper if not cheaper here and without the hassle of bringing it back.
