had another round yesterday, 4th one so still early days, total shots 97, scored 31 points with no blobs however I was 95 and scored 33 last time out in a semi gale.

short game was pants but much better off the tee, last time was the complete opposite.

must admit my putting wasnt great, 40 putts but did manage to reduce the number of 3 putts to 4 compared to last time but missed too many inside 6ft (my mate said the greens were pants so I will use that as an excuse).

heres my scorecard

still loving it though and will break 90 soon (then the target will be 80 etc etc haha), also got a lesson booked with the driver as havent taken it with me yet.

It happens. Sometimes you swing easier int he wind, take more club and make a better swing or just have a better ball striking round. If you can keep some of the triples off the card 90 and then 85 will be well withing reach. Have you thought of a chipping and putting lesson to learn how to save shots on and around the green?

had a chat with my mate/playing partner and he reckons I was striking the ball well and my shortgame was good around the greens (I putted just off or used a hybrid with putting action rather than chipping on)

my biggest fault is when I swing to fast trying to launch the ball into kingdom come, I lack distance and find I do tend to go after the ball and thus duff the shot.

I am going to have a general lesson next week as not seen my pro for a couple of months due to work etc so hopefully he can see if my swing/ball striking has improved. A short game lesson will occur but I also want a woods/driving lesson soon aswell. So much to learn and master so little time and £££ hahaha

cheers for the posts homer, I enjoy reading your threads and responses
