Five Way Play-Off At Gleneagles

Wow, just in from the final day at Gleneagles and what a finish!

There were a number of players pushing Mark Foster hard in the final round, but Foster will be disappointed not to have taken a couple of birdie chances to win it pretty easily. Conditions were pretty calm, with preferred lies in operation and Garrido throwing away a number of chances to put pressure on him.

Onto the play-off, 5 players, playing the par 5, 18th until the winner was decided. It took the 5th playing of the hole for Thomas Bjorn to win, and a pretty solid win it was.

He was lucky to still be in after the 1st play-off hole, pushing his third into the bunker and getting up and down for a par - nobody else managing a birdie. After that, he got stronger with each round - finally at the 5th attempt it was him vs Coutzee (who had a -5 final round to charge into contention), where he was able to put his 3rd shot to 3 feet, to set up the victory.

All in a great day of golf, with an epic finish.
