Fitting Centres - Scotland - Callaway, Cobra, Mizuno, Ping

Hi all,

I am interested in a new set of irons and really like the look of the following........

Mizuno JPX900

Ping G400

Callaway Steelhead XR

Cobra King F7.




I am based in Greenock and am willing to travel to Ayrshire and even through to the likes of St Andrews for the right fitter.

Can anyone recommend any specialised fitters for these brands?

Never used him myself but have heard great things about Scott Gourlay in Edinburgh. He does a load of brands so I would have thought you'd be able to get a good comparison. Website below:

Don't see ping on his list but he has a very good selection of equipment. He fitted me for my irons. He also does fitting days on a truck in the Falkirk area which might be closer for you. He has one there soon but I can't remember what date. I can check for you if you like?

I went to the Callaway fitting centre in St. Andrews to get fitted for my Callaway XR irons. No charge and a very enjoyable experience. I'd recommend it.

They are a mizuno fitting centre.

Callaway fitting at St. Andrews is free if booked your pro.
Excellent service. No hard sell as the fitters work for St Andrew's Links not Callaway.

Forgot to say that wherever you go it is best to hit balls that you can see fly and not a net/screen.

Thanks everyone. Think I will look at a trip to see Scott Gourlay as I have now heard a few good reports about him and he seems to stock a number of brands.

I agree KenL, would much prefer to hit actual shots as opposed to smashing them into a net.
