fitting centre near Lancaster

Hi all

Asking on behalf of a mate who is based up in Lancaster.

He has his heart set on a nice new set of i25 irons, but I have told him he would be much better of benchmarking them with various other makes / models and shafts at a proper fitting centre. Especially when spending nearly 500 quid.

Is there anywhere within driving distance that has a good fitting centre, lots of manufacturers and preferably a range?

This place looks alright, it's in Barrow. There's not many places that do it around Lancaster though, my in-laws play at Lancaster, and there's not a decent driving range for miles.

Never been myself but I believe Tour X golf in Warrington is as good as it gets in the NW for a fitting.

Is that too far to travel?

Little bit nearer than barrow is Fulwood driving range (supposed to be very good) as a few members at my place have had fittings from them: http://www.fulwooddrivingrange.co.uk/page15.html

I have never used any of these myself (apart form the driving ranges) so they are only suggestions

Dont think that Warrington would be too far, as he works in Manchester City Center.

Hes a contractor too, so can probably knock of work at half two in the afternoon.........

From what I've heard he might have a bit of a wait for a Tour X fitting, mate of mine went there and had to book 3 months in advance! Quality service though.

Dave Clarke's place over in Rainford's meant to be ok.
