Hi all.
I'm sure it has been covered before but I can't find it so-
I am a beginner looking to buy some second hand clubs (I live near golf bidder so may go there). However, I'm quite tall and my standard 7-iron is too small (agreed by my coach).

So, how would I go about getting the shaft length changed after I buy a set of clubs? How much is it, generally?

Silly question too - do you need to get the shaft length changed on all clubs?

Thanks v much in advance.

If you are near Golfbidder I'm assuming your SW London way. It depends largely on budget (what can you afford) to get the actual set of clubs but it won't cost much per club after than to get them extended. Once you have them, I'd recommend Pachesham Golf Centre near Leatherhead. It's a great fitting centre and they'll measure you properly and get you on a monitor and impact board

Homer thanks very much. I am going to spend about £100-150 on irons. So I will find a set and then look at Pachesham. I am in Fulham so yes, it's convenient for me.

I was just a little nervous about getting a set of clubs 'retrofitted' rather than ordering a custom fitted set of clubs. The Pachesham website suggests that they would help me out!

My local American Golf is trying to flog me a beginners package but I have quickly realised the best thing for me is to get some half decent second hand clubs.

Would you need the adjustment on every club in the bag?

To lengthen a club you need to remove the grip, glue in the extension (a piece of an old shaft will do) then put the grip back on. The 'lie angle' of the head may need changing but not by much.

Try and buy a forged set if you can as they are more easily bent.

Or, look for a set that are longer already on Ebay or used sites like http://www.usedping.co.uk/
