I just got back from my first trip golfing abroad...wow!

Left Tuesday and the day before I got cut from 17 to 14 (had a 1.0 extraordinary cut, and had only been cut to 17 2 weeks ago!) This did put a downer on my trip as i'm too competitive

Anyway, we went to Villamoura, and what a place to play golf, lovely courses, a nice breeze which also adds to the challenge, loved every minute, even if we had to get back on the Super Bock at the course to cure the hangover!

We played:

Laguna
Pineros Altos
Old Course
The Faldo
The Victoria
Not a bad line up!

Definitely something I would jump at the chance to do and cannot wait for next year!

What are the greenfee prices there and is it easy to get teetimes and how is the pace on the courses. is it fast rounds or rounds over 5 hours?

Hi

Everything bar the last day was pre booked, 4 rounds, 4 nights B&B right round from the marina, transfers, good flight times was £600-700.

We did however book The Victoria the day before, stunning course, was about £70, buggies werent too bad either.

I found the rounds to be OK, no worse than youd get during a medal at your local on a sunny saturday! Marshalls keep it moving without being rude or making you feel rushed. Spot on IMO

Don't get this, surely if you are competitive you want to get as low as possible and should be delighted at such a big cut?

Was my first time in Portugal as well about a month ago and loved it great place to for a golf trip we stayed in Vilamoura as well just behind the Marina. We played Laguna, Pinhal and Millennium ,tried to get on Victoria but first time was 3.30 which was to late for us.

Agree, but to go away for a week and try and win a few quid against the lads, would have been better playing off 17! :)

Then get the cut the day I get back :D

We managed to get 9:36 which was perfect, although I did get back in from the night out at 6am which meant I wasnt at my best!

Ours was booked thru Golf Kings we were about £650 for 5 nights ,flights golf, buggies and clubs on the planes so not bad, we stayed in the Vila Gale Marina which was spot on with free transfers to all the Oceanico courses.

Ive stayed in the Vila gale, it's a good base but if I'm honest I prefer Carvoeiro, plenty of courses near by and a lovely resort

Exactly where we stay and looks like we may go back again next year.Great wee place with more than enough to keep 8-12 hungry, thirsty, horny men going!;)

We book it all ourselves, save you a pretty pound and it's dead easy to do.

That's how you get yourself a "bandit" tag! Lol
Vilamoura is great though, the old course is nice, seems a reasonable price you paid for it aswell

Stayed at the sister hotel this year, Villa Gale Ampalius.

Played the Victoria, Millenium and Old Courses, Old was by far the best, Victoria was lovely too, Millenium was a bit scruffy though.

Paid 379 for hotel, transfers and golf, flights were 219 with monarch from Luton including clubs.

Quality trip, can't wait for next year!!!
