First time member - When should i get a handicap?

First round in yesterday in Hurricane conditions, could have done with a pair of welly boots also! 98! Not brilliant nut 3 pars which I was happy with!

good stuff and fair play for going out , just get out and hit it for now , no "real" golf for another few weeks for us parklanders ..

Never even heard of it before mate to be honest , im playing the 3 rounds , im sooo looking forward to the other 2 (Concrawood & Slieve Russell) not sure bout the quality of golf but we will have a good old laugh anyway , thats a given

I travelled down with a friend a week before xmas as a treat to ourselves and the wives but the course was closed due to weather. I have a friend who has played it, plays off 2 and is one of the fittest guys I know, claims a buggie is a must!

oh crikey ...wont be many "athletes" in the group you meet mate .. unless drinking gets into the olympics ha ha & i exclude myself even from drinking ability ha ha .

Bit of an update. I haven't missed a week yet since I joined. Have met some real decent people and have found regular playing partners. Have just got my handicap of 22. I going to get to work on trying to reduce that as soon as I can! Very rewarding though the whole experience and most of all just a good bit of craic!
