Played in the first monthly medal of the year this morning. Beautiful day, sun shining, not a breath of wind and everything should have been set fair for a lovely day.

However for the first time EVER I have returned home and thought "I really hated that 18 holes of golf".

The two guys I played with made it the most unpleasant game of golf I have ever had. I had to step away from at least 15 shots during the round and ask one of them to stop talking, stop clanking clubs back into their bag, stop practice swinging with their shadow all over my ball!!

One of them took a buggy due to ill health...fair enough, good to see him still trying to be active. But he released the brake pedal just as I was about to putt on at least 5 greens!! Either that or he would be whizzing past my right shoulder just as I was about to pull the trigger.

I have always advocated trying to play with anyone and everyone at the club, just stick my name up at the time i want to play and see what comes. If I find my name next to these pair again I will be moving it pronto.

Gonna have to go out again tomorrow to get that one out of the system. Hope everyone else's golf was more enjoyable today.

A 79 without one single birdie did not lighten the mood either

Probably not intentional, but rude behaviour is unacceptable. Please don't let it put you off, next week you'll probably be paired with a couple of gents!

Its hard to ignore that sort of thing. It happened to me in the past and trying to block it out is virtually impossible. Hope you get a better draw next time and get that .1 back!

I think you have a number of options. Tell them bluntly that their behaviour is out of order. They probably have never been told and aren't even aware they are being so annoying. Mention it to someone in power although that does smack of sour grapes but maybe the pro could have a quiet word or with your plan and move your name. Its a shame but at least the weater was decent. I only had time for a practice session this morning (birthday lunch with the mother in law) and I was so envious of those that were out after enduring a round of constant drizzle yesterday. I was surprised how quiet the course was.

Golfmmad.

When playing with people who are not following accepted ettiquete you should alway tell them. I have only had to do this once, and I wouldn't have minded but it was my playing partner. :D
